Patch Personnel have partnered with a well-established Australian conventional gas producer to source an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support the reliability and development of producing gas assets and associated infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing or early career E&I Engineer to join an exceptional team, noted for their technical capability and team culture. This role offers exposure across operating field infrastructure, electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA and operational technology, working closely with both engineering and operations teams.
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and supports both operational maintenance and engineering projects across electrical and instrumentation systems across producing gas infrastructure.
Key Capabilities of the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer include though are not limited to:
- Preparing work packs and technical documentation for maintenance and engineering activities
- Reviewing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with electrical and hazardous area standards
- Supporting minor engineering projects including scope development, design updates and technical documentation
- Maintaining electrical drawings, equipment registers and loop diagrams
- Supporting operational technology systems including SCADA and field instrumentation
- Participating in shutdown planning, commissioning and infrastructure handover
- Attending factory acceptance tests and site inspections where required
- Providing troubleshooting and technical support to site E&I technicians and operations teams
- Supporting emissions reduction and asset improvement initiatives
Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian electrical and safety regulations
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing E&I Engineer to join an exceptional team. It is essential to be a degree qualified Electrical Engineer with ideally 2-6 years of professional experience supporting industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
This will ensure you have :
- Experience working with AS/NZS 3000 and hazardous area standards (AS60079)
- Exposure to instrumentation systems including DI/DO, AI/AO and loop diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
- Pathway to RPEQ
An ability to work across both operations and engineering teams, combined with a proactive and organised approach, will be key to success in this role.
