Role: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of gas processing systems and associated utilities in Regional Victoria, while adhering to environmental standards and meeting customer requirements.

  • Safely operate and monitor all plant equipment to meet gas nominations and production targets.
  • Compile production logs, work orders, and reports for the Gas Plant.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to optimize system performance within operational guidelines.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance tasks and supervise contract personnel to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Permit Management:

  • Prepare and issue work permits as Permit Authority, overseeing permitted works in accordance with company protocols.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Facilitate effective communication during shift handovers and collaborate with team members to optimize production and maintenance activities.
  • Disseminate operational and safety information to relevant personnel on-site.

Health, Safety, and Community Engagement:

  • Fulfill responsibilities outlined in the Emergency Response Plan during site emergencies, ensuring the safety of personnel and facilities.
  • Participate in risk assessments and health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) meetings to promote a culture of safety and compliance.

Training and Development:

  • Support the training and development of Operator Maintainers and ensure compliance with competency requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification and licenses (mechanical or electrical).
  • Completion of relevant Competency-Based Training Assessments (CBTAs).
  • Valid C-Class driver’s license.
  • Minimum 3.5 years of experience in gas plant operations or similar industrial settings.


  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical and logical approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Positive work ethic with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to health, safety, environment, and community standards.
  • Proficiency in technical and computer skills, with the ability to comprehend technical data and drawings.
