Patch Personnel have partnered with a well-established Australian conventional explorer and producer to source a Petroleum Engineer to join their Subsurface team in Brisbane.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Petroleum Engineer to work alongside experienced production and subsurface discipline engineers supporting producing gas assets across operated and non-operated fields. The role focuses on production reporting, data quality control and well optimisation, while also contributing to improvements in production workflows and reporting automation.
The Petroleum Engineer reports to the Subsurface Manager and will work closely with operations, engineering and field teams to ensure production data is accurate, reliable and effectively utilised to support asset performance.
Key Responsibilities of the Petroleum Engineer include, though are not limited to:
- Quality control and validation of daily production data and reporting workflows
- Prepare and distribute production reports for internal teams and external stakeholders
- Analyse production data to support reservoir and facilities engineering workflows
- Assist the Senior Production Engineer in identifying and implementing well optimisation opportunities
- Improve production reporting efficiency and accuracy through automation and analytical tools
- Liaise with field teams and service providers to support data acquisition and well intervention activities
- Promote a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Build effective working relationships with field leadership, operational teams and engineering stakeholders to ensure production data is reliable and effectively utilised
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Petroleum Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 3+ years’ experience in oil & gas production engineering (conventional or unconventional assets)
- Experience with production data allocation, reporting and production performance analysis
- Strong analytical capability and experience improving workflows through automation or advanced data analysis
- Experience using production accounting systems and advanced Excel (including macros) highly regarded
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
