This is an exciting opportunity to step into a Senior Enironmental Approvals Consultant role at a long standing environmental consulting firm in Perth.

Joining an office of 30 people across approvals, closure, contamination and ecology you will be a key member of the approvals team tackling major resources projects across WA.

Clients range from major multi-nationals through to junior miners across base metals, precious metals, iron-ore as well as gas and petroelum. Most projects are based in WA but there is also the opportunity to work on international projects in Asia and South America.

The team is tight-knit, with a long-standing team leader and a nice mix of principal, senior and junior scientists.

The big difference between this consultancy and others is the close work they do with junior miners from exploration through to closure. If you’ve only ever worked with international miners and want to get more complex experience directly with clients, this is the role.

Your role will include:

  • Delivering high quality approvals applications and technical reports to support the approvals process
  • Prepration and management of environmental impact assessment documentation
  • Project management
  • Liasing directly with clients
  • Supervising and mentoring junior scientists
  • Submitting proposals and tender submissions

You will need:

  • At least 7 – 12 + years years of experience as an Environmental Scientist
  • Good working knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation
  • A relevant environmental science or engineering degree
  • The ability to work unrestricted in Australia

The salary for this role ranges between $130-180k inclusive of super. You will also have flexibility with WFH and different start / finish times.

Candidates outside of this range are encouraged to apply.
