Patch Personnel have partnered with one of Australia’s most active and diverse operators within the oil and gas to source a Team Leader – Engineering.
  
The primary objective of the Team Leader – Engineering is to provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, providing engineering support and technical oversight to the companies field operations and capital projects portfolio.
  
In addition to the team leadership responsibilities, this role is accountable for process safety assurance, process engineering, ad hoc technical support to operations, and other activities within the process engineering discipline.  This may include oversight of consultants and/or contractors providing engineering services to the company.
  
This is a permanent staff position based in Brisbane.
  
  
Key Capabilities for the Team Leader – Engineering include though are not limited to:
  

  • Lead the multidisciplinary engineering team in a way that is respectful, motivating and is conducive to developing a high-performing team
  • Lead regular meetings of company engineers to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Preparation and maintenance of appropriate Engineering standards or guidelines relevant to the process discipline
  • Providing direct input to projects via involvement in project reviews, or review and approval of documentation
  • Undertake the process engineering for small brownfield changes
  • Technical review of Management of Change requests
  • Prompt and responsive support to field operations with queries as they arise
  • Input to, or review of, operating procedures where process considerations are critical
  • Identifying facility improvements which could improve operability (lower costs, simplification, reliability, etc)
  • Identify a seriatim of process safety improvement opportunities in line with recognised industry standards (or ‘industry practice’)
  • Organise / coordinate / project manage activities so process safety improvements can be realised over a multi-year period
  • Assist Commercial team with process engineering considerations for gas and oil sales agreements on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist with technical aspects of contractor pre-qualification and management for engineering and technical contractors
  • Support those engineering standards produced are commercially realistic, sufficiently flexible to adapt to use across the Company
  • Assist with driving value in capital projects through design advice and guidance of engineering consultants
  • Financial approvals within the company’s financial delegation framework

  
About you
  
To be successful in this position you will be a Professional Engineer with a minimum Degree level qualification ideally in Mechanical or Process Engineering.  You will be a Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (or equivalent) and have a senior/principal level of operational experience.
  
Whilst you may be an experienced Team Leader or similar position, this may be considered a development opportunity for a Senior/Principal Engineer with ample experience mentoring and supporting team collaboration and function and the desire to develop into a technical leader.
