We are has partnered with an Australian oil and gas operator to recruit a qualified Instrument & Electrical Engineer to support their upstream production assets.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of your discipline across operations, brownfield projects, and improvement initiatives, working within a multidisciplinary team focused on asset performance, compliance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide discipline engineering support for instrumentation, electrical, and control systems across the asset lifecycle
- Drive improvement in reliability and operational performance through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Manage engineering scope for brownfield upgrades and ensure modifications comply with internal standards and industry regulations
- Review and approve design deliverables, risk assessments, and site execution plans
- Support ongoing maintenance strategies and contribute to long-term planning for control systems and electrical infrastructure
- Collaborate closely with site teams, engineering leads, and third-party contractors
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with change management and verification processes
About You
You are an experienced, proactive engineer who enjoys a balanced mix of office and field-based work. You’re solutions-focused, comfortable engaging across teams, and committed to safe, high-quality outcomes.
You will bring:
- A recognised degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an oil and gas, energy, or complex processing environment
- Sound knowledge of hazardous area compliance, instrumentation, and low/medium voltage systems
- Familiarity with process safety, system design, and automation upgrades
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Current or eligible CPEng / RPEQ (highly regarded)
